What Information Shouldn't AI Be Allowed To Collect
AI systems rely on data to function effectively, which can be collected intentionally (with user consent) or unintentionally (without user awareness, like through facial recognition). To protect privacy and build trust, AI should only collect data that users knowingly provide with informed consent. Clear boundaries and safeguards are necessary to prevent the accidental capture of sensitive information. Companies must practice transparency, apply privacy-by-design principles, and limit data collection to what's essential. In marketing and customer service, while personalized experiences are valuable, they must be balanced with strong data protection and ethical use. Ultimately, responsible and ethical data practices are key to maintaining user trust in AI.
❌ What AI Can't Do
Lack of Creativity: Of all the amazing things of AI it also has some challenges. One of these challenges is a lack of creativity in AI. Since AI just uses information it finds on the internet.
Inability to Make Ethical Judgments: AI is still not able to make ethical decisions, the reason for this are the complicated algorithms require AI to follow the algorithm and not to make commonsensical decisions. But you might ask why does AI even need algorithms, without them AI wouldn't do jobs quickly or efficiently.
Creative thinking and innovation: While AI can generate songs, text, etc. AI lacks true creativity. This is because AI simply uses patterns in data.AI simply can not think outside the box. For example, if you ask AI to create a new physics calculation it will come up blank.
Emotional intelligence: AI does not have any emotions. Even though AI can recognize a few emotional cues through facial recognition, AI can not show empathy or build real human connections
Moral judgement: AI does not know the difference between right and wrong, as explained by Babak Hodjat."if you tell an AI system. Hey, you just blew up a factory so we are putting you in jail. The AI system doesn't really learn anything. It might just make the same mistake again. "AI's decision making is also limited to the data and rules given to it.
Outdated data: An AI uses data to generate its responses. One problem though, is that if the creator does not update the input data, the AI might generate invalid answers.
Self awareness and consciousness: Even though AI has made several advancements, it still does not possess self-awareness.AI forms its answers based on an algorithm. For something to be self aware it needs to understand that it exists and it needs to understand its own thoughts and feelings.
AI cannot replace the human touch in teaching: One of the biggest challenges for AI is to replicate the social and emotional intelligence that humans have. A teacher's job is not just to transmit knowledge, but also to motivate and inspire students. Teachers understand and provide help to the individual needs of their students, which cannot be done by AI. Classroom discussions and individual interactions are essential for students' growth. While AI can give personalized study materials and assessments, it can't replace the human touch and the relationships formed through teaching.
AI can't think outside of the box: AI is programmed to solve problems in the most optimal way possible based on the algorithm and data it has been trained with. While this is helpful for repetitive tasks, such as grading, it's not useful for tasks that need creativity. Education needs students to develop these skills so they can tackle new problems and come up with original ideas. Teaching creativity is one of the most complex tasks for teachers as every student has a different way of thinking, and it is not possible for AI to achieve this task.
